*Position Summary*:
Manage the day-to-day financial matters of Howard Perry and Walston Realty and its related businesses (“the Company”) in a manner that will maximize efficiency, sales production, profit and value.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Oversee daily accounting operations and personnel including, accounts payable, accounts receivable, commission payments, and two staff accountants.
* Assist in developing annual budgets.
* Prepare and perform primary review of monthly financial reports for the Company.
* Work with other managers of the Company to develop operational and managerial reporting needed to assist the managers in making competent and well-informed decisions.
* Perform month-end and year-end closing of the books and records of the Company.
* Oversee bi-weekly payroll and all governmental related forms and submissions.
Administer changes to employee benefit plans (health, medical, 401k).
* Maintain the general ledger of the Company and its related entities.
* Maintain goal sheets for sales offices and business units
* Maintain Fixed asset module and property tax filings
* Review bank accounts reconciliations, prepare and enter journal entries, resolve discrepancies.
* Perform analysis work as directed by the CFO.
* Maintain/develop/improve accounting policies and procedures.
* Oversee/review preparation of 1099’s, 1098’s, and W-2’s.
* Other duties as assigned
*Required Experience, Skills and Education:*
* Five years work experience in financial management, general ledger and account reconciliations.
* Five years experience managing a team
* Experience with ADP Payroll processing and Intaact Accounting Package
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Business or Accounting degree
*Physical Requirements: *
The physical requirements of this position include sitting, standing and the ability to talk and hear.
The position may also require some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time, up to 20 pounds.
