JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the CFO, the controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of financial reports and maintenance of adequate records and comprehensive internal controls.
The controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the company's reported financial results in compliance with GAAP.
Role and Responsibilities Embodies “The Big Rock Way” and acts as a champion of the five core values: Character, Commitment, Conservation, Creativity, and Collaboration.
Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Lead and mentor the accounting team.
Maintain and enhance system of internal controls to safeguard assets, minimize risks, ensure accuracy of records and compliance with regulations and laws.
Ensure consolidated financial statements are prepared timely, accurately and in compliance with GAAP, including monthly financial reporting packages and annual statements with footnote disclosures.
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
Coordinate interactions with external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits.
Support evaluation and implementation of ERP solutions.
Oversee accounting and financial aspects of acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration and financial success.
Work closely with FP&A to analyze costs to identify areas of inefficiency.
Support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Provide ad hoc financial analyses as needed and assist with special projects as required.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
CPA designation required.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Public accounting experience preferred.
Experience in distribution or retail preferred.
Strong technical accounting skills.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Experience with ERP systems migrations.
Detail oriented and proficient in Excel.
Work Environment Primarily in an office environment.
Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries, as well as to potential acquirees to conduct due diligence.
Occasional weekend or evening work is expected.
Job Type: Full Time Supervisory Requirements Minimal 5 years’ experience supervising two or more direct reports.
