PINAM Construction is an unlimited licensed General Contractor that provides Commercial Construction and Project Management services to local, State, and Federal governments, to private institutions and to the Multi-Family Residential industry.
We also provide Residential Crawlspace, Foundation and Structural Repair in the State of North Carolina.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, including developing profit and loss statements for each job.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing key insights to support project decision-making.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple construction projects using accounting software (such as QuickBooks).
● Develop and maintain a system for tracking project costs, including expenses, labor, materials, and subcontractor payments.
● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss statements for each construction project, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
● Analyze project costs, overhead expenses, and revenue to identify project profitability, trends, and potential cost savings opportunities.
● Collaborate with project managers and estimators to develop accurate cost estimates and budgets for upcoming projects.
● Monitor project budgets, expenses, and revenue performance against forecasted targets, and proactively communicate variances and potential risks to stakeholders.
● Identify and escalate any potential financial risks or issues that could impact project profitability or financial objectives.
● Provide financial insight and guidance to project teams, helping them understand and interpret financial data and reports.
● Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, bills, and subcontractor payments.
● Assist in the preparation of financial reports for lenders, stakeholders, and management as required.
● Participate in the development and enhancement of internal control processes and procedures within the finance and accounting department.
● Support the year-end audit process by providing necessary financial information and documentation.
*REQUIREMENTS*
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the construction industry.
● Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
● Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, along with experience in analyzing and interpreting financial data.
● Solid understanding of profit loss statements (P&Ls) and their application to construction projects.
● Knowledge of construction industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
