TARGAN Inc.
is searching for an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for daily accounting operations including the end of the month closing and the timely consolidation of all financial statements.
This person will partner with the operational, support business areas, and other corporate functions to ensure that the tactical and strategic initiatives are realized through optimizing regulatory accounting.
The position provides effective, timely, and actionable financial information and business analytics, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis on Avangrid and its subsidiaries’ financial performance, treasury management, as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Identify and evaluate operational and business issues that impact financial performance and effectively communicate the results to various stakeholders, including business partners in other areas of finance, as well as senior management and outside investors.
Responsibilities:
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP for internal and external presentation.
Lead development of annual operating budget with business units and management and assist with mid-year forecasts and tracking performance to budget.
Develop accounting policies and procedures, including process narratives, technical memoranda, and appropriate internal controls to support the business objectives.
Manage the continued development of the ERP system, including enabling budgeting, forecasting, and analytics tools for management and the business units.
Assess ongoing FP&A processes and tools for continuous improvement and automation opportunities.
As may be required, manage year-end audits with the external audit firm and prepare audit working papers.
Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
Perform other related duties when needed as a financial leader in a high-growth company.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or significant equivalent experience is required.
MBA degree preferred.
4+ years of the financial function of a company required, experience working in a venture-backed company.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is desired.
Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and financial best practices, with the ability to provide sound and ethical financial advice to executive leadership.
Experience with, or ability to learn, TARGAN’s operating system (INFOR) to assist the accounting team perform the monthly close.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and accountable for personal performance.
Highly effective communicator (up, across, down) both written and orally, and ability to adjust communication style to changing situations (including culture, background, or style).
Practical, and results-oriented with superior analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
Strong work ethic, and ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities on an ongoing basis.
