Fairview® Investment Administration is seeking a staff accountant for our hedge fund accounting team.

Job Responsibilities: Generally responsible for portfolio and general ledger accounting for an assigned group of private investment funds, which are valued on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.
Prepares financial statements in accordance with GAAP for Investment Companies to be distributed to investors on an annual basis upon completion of an audit.
Prepares investor allocations and provides supporting schedules to be utilized by external accountants in preparing the tax returns and related k-1’s.
Researches, addresses and follows-up on comments and questions received from the auditors related to the financial statements.
Uses various computer applications in performing day-to-day responsibilities.
Works on special projects, as assigned.
Desired Characteristics include the following: Financial reporting experience in the investment company industry is preferred, but not required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues.
Strong analytical skills and proficient in reviewing financial data.
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information.
Ability to utilize computer equipment and software, specifically spreadsheet applications.
Ability to cooperate and contribute in a team environment.
Requirements: Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would provide the knowledge, skills and ability required in performing the job.
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
