Overview: Summary: Assists project management in delivering projects on-time and on budget with early identification and proactive reporting of financial and schedule-related project matters.
This is an office-based position with regular trips to different assigned project sites collaborating with onsite field supervision to facilitate the transfer of this information back to the home office through standard operating procedures.
Engagement will be with construction, project management, subcontracts, supply chain, estimating, accounting and finance.
Growth potential tracks into project management, financial management, or technical expertise.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Providing the Project Executive and Project Director with administrative and management support.
Collecting, assembling, and facilitating the flow of information to and from various project stakeholders.
Tracking task-level percent complete, remaining effort, cost at completion, and budget variance analysis.
Forecasting cost at completion and providing communications with necessary project members.
Ensuring project compliance with applicable regulations and established processes.
Working knowledge of risk identification and mitigation methodologies.
Overseeing a project’s protocols for risk management, issue resolution, change control, and scope control.
Ensure stakeholder interpretations are understood and advising management towards optimal solution(s).
Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings.
Assist project management in preparing accurate content for reports, meetings, and presentations.
Documentation of minutes and action item list and perform follow ups from meetings and presentations.
Opportunity to chair and grow into a larger role during meetings and presentations.
Ability to advance showing initiative when undertaking additional project tasks.
Position is office-based with and regular visits to project sites of one or more days each week.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is non-management and does not have any direct reports.
This position reports to a functional manager (EPC Cost Control Manager) and to the (project-specific) project managers and project director Qualifications: Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Degreed individual preferred, but applicable experience in finance, project management and related practices will be considered.
Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications required.
Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) 6th edition and ability to apply them on projects.
Can provide examples of structuring new processes, quantitative problem solving, and negotiations.
Experience in project planning, and cost controls as part of either PMO or project management team.
Experience directly interfacing with project team members in analyzing cost and schedule performance, especially related to earned value management (EVM) and critical path method (CPM) scheduling.
Experience in cost controls, monitoring updates and trends, developing and presenting corrective action plans, and risk mitigation strategies, change management, and other business-related functions related with controls.
Experience creating and presenting project-level reports, presentations and deliverables that reflect risk and status to project management and senior management.
Must be a self-starter and able to effectively work well with others.
Good organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent activities with competing priorities.
Good presentation, communication, and analytical skills.
18 years of age or older Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment and in the field.
Required to sit, stand, bend twist, and lift up to 20 pounds.
May be exposed to weather elements in the field and must drive a company vehicle.
