SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the accounting department through various tasks and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Performs general ledger reconciliations, including research and maintenance.
Posts and balances institution’s bank accounts on a daily basis
Reviews and reconciles vault paperwork
Processes expense reports
Maintains complex computer-based analyses and reports of financial institution accounting records.
Assists with reporting to vendors, as necessary
Assists with the preparation of property tax forms.
Assists with annual budget process
Files and remits federal and state tax withholdings (excluding employee payroll withholdings).
Provides general support to other areas of the institution as necessary.
Creates ad-hoc reports based on manager’s directive.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Ensures all processes are performed under the appropriate level of control and reports irregularities to management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
BUSINESS RELATED CONTACTS:
First Flight non-accounting staff: Daily contact to verify, perform, and research transactional accounting.
Outside vendors: As needed contact with regards to variance research.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) from four-year college or university; preferred, but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual at a minimum should have intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel.
Candidate must have own computer and secure internet to be eligible to work remotely.

Position is HYBRID: work in Cary office at least 2-3 days per week; ability to work hybrid is dependent upon Manager's approval after successful training period.
