Role & Responsibilities
The FP&A Analyst reports to the Finance Manager – FP&A and is responsible for assisting in all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for the Ontic Creedmoor site.
The FP&A Analyst will act as a key partner to the business in communicating financial and operating performance to senior management in order to aid critical decision-making activity and ensure the business performance is aligned with its financial and strategic goals.
This is a high-visibility role within the business with opportunity for growth within the organization, with a proven record of placement to higher roles both within and outside of Finance.
Major stakeholder and driver of annual Budget, quarterly Forecast, and weekly Flash processes
Includes maintaining and owning the Flash Forecast model, and driving weekly forecast rhythm within Creedmoor
Analyze business performance against budget, strategic goals, and M&A activity, specifically on sales, gross margin, EBITDA, and Cash Flow, with in-depth understanding of key drivers contributing to each
Prepare and present periodic financial reporting and narrative for senior management
Track, analyze, and understand various financial information, including sales & cost analysis, price/mix/volume analysis, market analysis, inventory tracking, bookings, price performance, returns on investment, cash flow, and Business/Operations KPIs
Partner with Value Stream Directors, Senior Management, Sales, Business Development, and Revenue Management teams to understand and drive financial and operating performance of the business
Interface with Global Finance team in consolidation, analysis and narrative of global financial results
Maintain & improve on existing financial models
Contribute and design ways to further leverage financial reporting and data systems, including OneStream and Snowflake
Identify opportunities within team and business for process improvement
Assist in certain aspects of monthly Financial Close, including but not limited to analysis & narrative, journal entries, and account reconciliations (note: this is not an Accounting position)
Perform ad hoc analysis relating to financial and operating metrics
Requirements (candidates must have)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business
Strong Excel skills (model building, sumifs, sumproduct, index/match, pivot tables, nested “if” statements, chart formatting)
1-3 years of analyst experience in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or related field
Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work well in a team environment
Strong presentation skills with ability to distill and explain complex data simply and concisely
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with various internal customers
Preferred (desired candidates should have)
Prior experience in a manufacturing or aerospace company
Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and financial statements
Knowledge of Tableau (or other Business Intelligence software) including dashboard building, data gathering/cleaning, and best-practices
Strong written communication skills using business/financial writing techniques
Basic working knowledge and experience with SQL
Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing company
