Our Global Tax team serves a central part in the success of our business.
We are seeking a Corporate Tax Accountant to assist the team with federal, state, and international tax compliance and reporting.
This role will also gain valuable experience as a contributor to Labcorp’s quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
As part of the compliance and provision work, this role will include tax research & analysis of tax law, assistance with various state audits, identification of tax savings opportunities, and other special projects.
The ideal candidate will have exposure to federal and state tax concepts.
A successful candidate will be able to think critically, work on teams with multiple stakeholders, and build strong relationships within the tax department and across Labcorp.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare workpapers and tax returns for federal, state and local jurisdictions
Calculate quarterly estimate and extension payments
Calculate state modifications and apportionment
Assist with state & local income, franchise, and sales tax audits
Respond to jurisdictional tax notices
Reconcile tax accounts
Assist with US domestic tax provision calculations
Research, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations
Assist with special projects including but not limited to federal and state tax legislation reform, international tax, transfer pricing, and R&D tax credits
Partner with the wider finance organization to understand changes within the business
Work collaboratively with others within and outside of their function to achieve goals, simplify processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed accurately and timely
Education
Master’s degree in Accounting with preference for concentration in taxation
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in public accounting or a corporate tax setting
CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
CorpTax experience a strong plus
Exposure to Alteryx a plus
History of problem solving and critical thinking
Other systems experience a plus including MS Office Suite, Vertex, Checkpoint, PeopleSoft and/or other ERP systems
Pay Range: $47,857 - $75,819
