Reporting to the Diagnostics Cluster Finance Lead, the Diagnostics (Dx) Cluster Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial support and operations anlysis of the Union City, San Diego and Durham manufacturing sites, including execution of financial analyses and accounting.
All 3 sites financial results and analysis would be supported by this role and would provide insights to the Diagnostics Cluster Finance Lead to drive decisions and improve performance.
while facilitating the sharing of best practices across the sites within the Cluster and across the whole of the Diagnostics Platform.
The role directly partners with the three Site Leads and their teams, providing strategic guidance, financial analyses, setting stretch targets and driving year on productivity improvement across all aspects of P&L financials and cashflow.
Internal customers rely on this position to influence and drive improved performance in their function / site through identifying opportunities, setting strategies, respectfully challenging and debating with site & function heads and providing insights to drive decisions, investments and resource allocation.
The position will reside in Durham and will be Hybrid depending on time of the month and current deliverables.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES In order of importance, list the primary responsibilities critical to the performance of the position.

Financial analysis and accounting support for Union City, San Diego, and Durham Be leader for annual budget process, periodic forecasts, and help to drive closure on issues during month end working with the Center of Excellence Interface with GMS FP&A teams, Dx CoE support team, and GMS Compliance team as needed Business partner with 3 Site Leads and their leadership teams on defining and implementing a manufacturing strategy, driving “Make” cost levers to deliver required levels of service at the appropriate cost in a sustainable manner.
Partner with Site LT’s to deliver productivity targets (CIP projects) Lead process of analyzing Purchsase Price Variances and Material Usage Variances Business partner with 3 Site teams on analyzing standard costs, lead analytics on Purchase Price Variances and Material Usage Variances.
Drive standardized reporting for the 3 sites to maximize decisions making working with supervisor, CoE, and site leadership teams Support the Distressed Inventory Process for all 3 sites Capital project support: Ensure quality business cases development, reviewing soundness of financial models and alternative actions within CPA’s; Drive increase in returns and value for money from capital expenditure with regular follow ups post implementation Compliance: Review & safeguard company assets through the maintenance of effective SOX controls; including Inventory and Fixed Assets.
Work with internal compliance teams to improve the efficiency of our internal controls to focus effort on meaningful controls to provide assurances on compliance ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Provide the primary groups or key positions that this position will have interaction with as a regular part of the position responsibilities.

Role sits withing GMS Finance hierarchy; reporting into Diagnostics Cluster Finance Lead and partnering with Site Leadsership teams Key interactions with GMS Finance FP&A team and other GMS FLT members e.

GMS Procurement financial support, plus internal Corporate finance groups (mainly Controller team).
Build strong relationship with key Diagnostics Commercial (finance) team members to generate insights and joint action across the Diagnostics business e.

Gross margin improvement.
Limited external interaction with compliance and audit aside from monthly SOX items EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Indicate the formal education, certification or license required and/or preferred.
Include the minimum number of years of relevant experience required for the position (where legally permissible).
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting CPA or MBA in Finance or related discipline preferred 5-7 years experience in a finance analysis role demonstrating progressive, financial/business experience in Supply Chain / Manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills on a business level.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships at all levels within a matrix organisation Preferred experience: US GAAP experience Experience of working in a mulit-national, multi-cultural manufacturing environment TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Indicate the technical skills required and/or preferred, as applicable.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP) and Supply Chain processes (eg.
S&OP).
Thorough understanding of business, processes, systems and internal controls Experience with practical experience with cost accounting Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills with demonstrated ability to present ideas to and influence others.
Excellent technical aptitude and experience with Excel, Anaplan, Power BI • SAP experience across all financial modules desirable Communication/ Influencing: Ability to communicate, guide and influence effectively at all levels and in different cultures (factory floor and Senior Leadership/Function heads).
Business Partnership: Proven participation in Platform/Global financial analysis and decision making.
Understands and applies financial acumen from a global / enterprise perspective.
Demonstrated insight and understanding of partner functions and their relationship with finance in order to achieve goals.
Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills: use seasoned judgement to evaluate quantitative and qualitative information in complicated networks and ambiguous situations.
Effectively define assumptions, issues and uncertainties; & perform complex analyses to drive recommendations and decisions.
Financial Acumen: Understands and applies financial acumen from a global / enterprise perspective.
Strategic Thinking: Anticipating issues and opportunities (economic, political and geographical impacts) to ensure the Platform is prepared for future growth PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Note the physical conditions in which work will be performed, if applicable to the position.

The role is mainly office / desk-based with limited additional physical requirements.
Role will involve some travel across the 3 sites in the Cluster and occasional travel to meet with key stakeholders across the GMS and Diagnostics organisations During busy periods e.
