JOB FUNCTION
Works closely with the accounting department performing a full range of accounts receivable administrative support duties such as: payment posting, verification, reconciliation, processing of monthly statements, posting and audit of accounts receivable related transactions to journals, ledgers and other records while closely following established policies and procedures.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs essential AR functions such as monthly statement processing and corporate check posting
• Follows guidelines for duties such as check posting, invoicing and customer journal entries
• Receives, post and reconciles customer payments
• Reviews customer accounts for billing accuracy
• Utilizes reports and web based applications to monitor targeted account balances
• Performs a variety of general clerical duties including telephone support, certified document mailing, email support and other routine functions
• Audits customer accounts and updates them to maintain account integrity
• Receives and processes internal and external inquiries regarding customer account status and billing questions
• Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records
• Files documents following established procedures
• May assist in preparing documentation for legal inquires, litigation and court appearances
• Conduct oneself in the presence of customers in a manner befitting the image of the company
• Perform other duties as so directed by management in line with the objectives of the dealership
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
• Solid clerical expertise with strong attention to detail
• General accounting knowledge
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of personal computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to provide complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
• Ability to manage and convey confidential information appropriately
• Must work well with peers and customers to solve problems and achieve goals using accepted company conduct
• Excellent customer service skills; in person, on the phone and in writing
• Previous accounts receivable or accounting experience preferred
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
