Calyx Senior Living, a private-equity backed developer and operator of senior living communities with over 25 years of operating history in North Carolina, is seeking a Controller to join its next generation leadership team in managing the multi-site rollout of its new senior living brand, Calyx Living.
The Controller will have primary oversight of the generation of financial statements, as well as the functional areas of accounts receivable/collections and payroll.
In addition, working with Finance, the controller will maintain and update a comprehensive investment model and assist in securing financing for the next 7 to 10 years of the company's growth.
The Controller responsibilities include:
Prepare monthly GAAP financial reporting package including financial statements as well as internal financial review package.
Manage the creation and production of annual budgets.
Manage on a daily basis the company's cash resources and functions directly affecting cash, including Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Accounts Payable.
Oversee the accurate and timely generation of payroll and related accounting on the General Ledger.
Manage basic commercial banking functions.
Manage the company's audit as well as federal, state and local tax reporting and compliance.
Assist in raising debt capital raising and managing the company's lender relationships.
Maintain individual project-level investment models as well as consolidated roll-out models.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an excellent position for an individual with at least five years of controller or similar level experience as well as financial modeling and quantitative skills.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant and a have BA/BS degree in an accounting or business-related major.
Three or more years of Big 4 public accounting experience.
Seven or more years of experience in a multi-site corporate accounting position with oversight of an AR/AP and billing team.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and quantitative modeling skills including experience with macros and data analytics.
Strong interpersonal and team management skills; experience in effectively communicating information and holding team members accountable to deliverables.
