The Position:
The Senior Accountant role will be based out of our East Division Office in Raleigh, North Carolina and be directly responsible for the support of our East Tennessee District reporting to the Division Controller.
Consistent travel to our Eastern Tennessee locations – 30% around month/quarter ends and as-needed for the business to become familiar with locations and key personnel.
A typical day for a Senior Accountant may include:
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Produce Financial closings - monthly, quarterly, annually.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls and provide guidance to district internal controls as needed
Provide analysis support for CAPEX requests and justification
Production of monthly reporting
Compile, analyze and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Work with plant personnel to track, record, and reconcile daily plant performance and production.
Provide guidance to ensure the district internal controls are in place and effective.
Acquire strong knowledge of the business.
Support and partner with Corporate, Division and District management teams as the District’s key point of contact for financial matters
Perform standard and ad hoc analyses for management to support key business decisions
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
Identify and implement improvements in processes, reporting and analyses
You may be a good fit if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Professional designation preferred (CPA or CMA)
Experience with and knowledge of JD Edwards, Blackline, Mpower, Planning Analytics
5+ years of finance/accounting experience
Manufacturing or construction materials experience a plus
Strong ability to work independently.
Exceptional interpersonal skills - verbal and written.
Demonstrated ability in financial/business analysis.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
