The Deputy Administration Chief is a senior-level professional position, supporting the efficient and effective operations of the Administration Section.
As Deputy to the Assistant Director for Administration (Admin Chief) the position coordinates and manages teams of staff across eight independent functional areas: Accounts Payable, Budget, Preparedness Grants, Compliance, Human Resources, Information Technologies, Application Development/GIS, and the North Carolina Responder Assistance Initiative.
Job duties of this position include: Assisting the Administration Chief by providing support, guidance, and direction to professional staff within the Administration Section Working on specific projects and functional areas for direct oversight and management Utilizing problem-solving and analysis skills to assess complex situations, identify potential solutions, and develop or recommend strategies for resolution Working with the Administration Chief on initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness in all areas of section operations and in the Division at large Operating with the delegated authority of the Administration Chief and in their absence, leading the Section and representing the Administration Chief at meetings and/or briefings as needed This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
This position may be required to work extended hours, overnights, weekend and/or holidays when the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) is activated for a disaster.
Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC19.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or other discipline related to the area of assignment from appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, in which, two years should be in a supervisory role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
