Description of Work This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $28.

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Adult Correction.

The duties of this position include: Maintaining and overseeing financial data.
Managing grants and contracts.
Tracking payroll with grants.
Processing and managing financial transactions.
Generating financial reports for analysis.
Maintaining and tracking records for p-cards within the section.
Reviewing and approval of financial specialty purchasing requests and assistance with policy interpretation.
Calculating and allocating the operating budget for facilities, and monitoring and managing the Inmate Welfare Budget.
Calculating and allocating the operating budget for facilities, and monitoring and managing the Prison Education Program Budget.
Primary contact for interpretation of fiscal policy for prison admin officers and education staff.
Communicate verbally and in writing with managers, wardens, AWP's, staff, the controller's office and general public.

Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Considerable knowledge of governmental accounting methods, procedures and financial practices.
Ability to interpret and apply common to moderately complex Federal and State fiscal regulations.
Ability to analyze and correct financial problems and accounting errors.
Ability to make minor adjustments to the accounting system and procedures.
Ability to prepare interpretive or analytical Accounting or financial reports.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
