gov/state-employee-resources/benefits The Accounting Technician l will work in the AP section to process invoices, matching, direct invoices, including travel reimbursements, grants, contracts, leases, land acquisitions, temp solutions, motor fleet, and workers comp payments using the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS).
Other critical functions of the position are flagging and reviewing accruals, flagging, and reviewing 1099s, auditing and organizing batches of invoices, reconciling P-Cards, and filing.
Key Responsibilities: Understanding and following policies/procedures of the Office of the State Controller (OSC) and Office of the State Budget and Management (OSBM).
Understanding of state-wide travel policies to review P-card travel transactions, and reimbursements.
Staying current with NC Department of Administration State-Term Contracts to properly review P-card purchases.
The Budget and Finance Office provides leadership and strategic support to the Department by directing, preparing, and certifying annual and biennial budgets; analyzing and researching budgetary issues that impact the Department's divisions, programs, budgets, and plans; and overseeing the fiscal operations, policies and procedures for the department.
The fiscal responsibilities include but are not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, collections, billing, capital improvements, fixed asset management, cash management, fiscal reports, procurement, leases, and Memorandum of Agreements.
The Office is also responsible for monitoring activities throughout the Department to ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding accounting, budget, purchasing and contracts.
