Description of Work
This posting is available for 2 Positions 60068521 & 60067390 both of which are with the Department of Adult Corrections – Controller’s Office (Financial System Support).
Both positions are responsible for working within the NC Financial System (NCFS).
Responsible determining financial impact of operator and system problems/issues as well as developing appropriate solution to problems.
Both positions provide client support by utilizing knowledge of NCFS and NCFS Security and will be one of the primary Security administrators for NCFS.
Knowledgeable with Security, Accounts Payables, General Ledgers, Budgetary Control, Financial Controller, Inventory, P-card, NetPlus, and Core Banking.
Positions perform data analysis using report writing tool such as NCFS OTBI and excel.
Each position will assist over 1100 users.
Both positions participate in upgrades to systems prior to being migrated into production.
Responsible for assisting with NCID maintenance and other system administrative positions.
Positions assist in developing and maintaining manuals and/or documentation for all financial systems, developing training material and conducting training in both one-on-one and in a group setting to the department.
These positions will be instrumental with NCFS security and inventory, accounts payable and purchasing.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.

About the Department of Adult Correction (DAC) The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.
This department includes State Prisons, Correction Enterprises, the Division of Community Supervision, and the Division of Rehabilitation & Reentry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following: Demonstrated knowledge of the North Carolina Accounting System (NCAS) and North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) or other accounting systems.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form with diverse audiences to present ideas and explain processes clearly.
Demonstrated experience preparing budget documents and reports.
Documented work experience in an administrative role compiling, summarizing, and analyzing data.
Management Preference NCFS Experience Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, information systems, or other area that would provide a core curriculum in financial management or information technology from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate’s degree in a finance or information technology field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
