Job Description
Pullen Arts Center is seeking responsible, enthusiastic individuals who love working with teens and pre-teens to serve as Camp Specialists for Artist Studio Summer Camp 2024.
Camp Specialists will assist Teaching Artists and Camp Director in executing Visual Arts programming and recreational activities for 4-week arts based day camp for teens and pre-teens (Ages 11-16).
Artist Studio Summer Camp runs July 8 - August 2nd 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Camp Director & Teaching Artists in planning, organizing, and conducting a program of Visual Arts (2 & 3D projects), games, and outdoor recreational activities for 4-weeks arts based camp for ages 11-16.
Plan a variety of arts activities, prepare materials ahead of time, and teach projects and techniques to campers.
Actively engage with campers in art activities and recreational activities.
Ensure camper safety at all times.
Assists with organizing camp rooms prior to the first week of camp and cleaning up and reorganizing camp rooms at the end of the summer•
On a daily basis, assist with setting up camp rooms prior to camper arrival and cleaning up camp rooms at the end of the day.
Checks campers into and/or out of camp daily
Keep camp rooms in order, clean, organized, and inventoried throughout the day
Ensure the safety of campers, volunteers and staff.
Responsible for managing camper behavior
Other duties as assigned
Typical Qualifications
Must have experience working with children
Must have experience in the Arts, Education, Recreation, or similar field
Must be punctual and reliable
Must be 18 years old or older
Must be able to attend and complete all pre-camp training
