*Kid’s Country Lead Teacher*
*Job Description*
Our Lead Teachers are to provide a warm, loving, nurturing and safe learning environment for children explore and grow.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
· Supervise and ensure the welfare, health and safety of the children at all times, being alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group
· Interact with the children and encourage their involvement in activities
· Keep the classroom, storage areas and bathroom clean, neat and orderly.
Check cleaning list often to make sure all cleaning duties are completed.
· Plan and implement educational curriculum of age-appropriate activities and identify each child’s individual capabilities and needs
· Create a learning environment
· Decorate the classroom with bulletin boards, pictures, children’s art work, etc.
· Organize and maintain classroom activity areas, materials, and supplies.
· Keep Administration advised of equipment and material needs and repairs
· Maintain constant supervision of children
· Coordinate with Administration all field trips, special events, etc.
and write “Thank you” notes when appropriate
· Assist cook in serving meals and snacks.
Try to sit, eat and interact with the children during their meal times.
Remember to say a blessing at lunch.
· Establish and maintain good, open and effective communication with parents
· Build good communications with other staff to create a professional environment.
· Be a good team player by offering assistance when needed
· Attend preservice and in-service training as required
· Understand and follow the state child care rules and regulations, center’s personnel and parent policies
· Keep Administration informed in advance of program needs
· Report to Administration any special needs or problems of individual children, classroom problems, accidents or any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
· Attend staff meetings and participate in all functions of the center
· Completely understand the center’s discipline policy.
Handle problems promptly and in accordance with stated policy on discipline.
Violation of this policy will result in immediate dismissal.
· Maintain good record keeping of attendance, food program counts, jot notes, etc.
· Wash face and hands upon arrival as well as teach the children to wash as needed throughout the day
· Listen to, read to and play with the children.
Wiping nose and keeping shoes tied are expected.
· Always remember and respect the value of being a good role model.
· Report all complaints to Administration immediately
· Supervise and give clear instructions to assistants or floaters
· Maintain confidentiality of children, parents and fellow staff members
· Maintain professional attitude and loyalty to the school at all times
