Church Nursery Worker

Responsibilities: - Provide care and supervision to children in a nursery setting - Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and play - Assist with diaper changes and other basic needs of infants and toddlers - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the nursery area - Collaborate with other nursery workers to ensure smooth operations.
One other paid nursery worker or a church volunteer will be with you.
Requirements: - Experience working with children, preferably in a daycare or childcare setting - Knowledge of infant and toddler care - Ability to engage children in educational and recreational activities - Strong communication skills to interact with parents, staff, and children effectively - Patience, compassion, and the ability to handle challenging behaviors - Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and needs of the nursery - Must pass a background check and complete an online child safety training Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
Duties and responsibilities may be subject to change based on the needs of the nursery.
Hours: September-early June, hours are two Sundays a month from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm.
During months with 5 Sundays, staff will alternate working the 5th Sunday.
During the summer, hours are 10:30 am to 12:15 pm.
On Easter Sunday, the hours are 7:30 am to 12:15 pm.
Opportunities to provide child care for other church events will occur a few times a year.
Additional pay is offered for these occasions.
Note on pay: because of the varying hours throughout the year, regular pay is divided into 12 equal paychecks per year.
