*You Will Be Successful*
The successful candidate for this position will have an undergraduate degree in Child Development or a related field and have at least one year of experience working with children from infancy through age four.
Familiarity with NAEYC and North Carolina Star Ratings is desirable.
CPR and First Aid certifications must be attained and held through the length of employment.
The successful candidate will show a nurturing teaching style adapted to each child's individual needs.

*Job Responsibilities*
* Maintain daily open communication with the Director.
* Support the Academy’s programs and policies as well as State licensing requirements.
* Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
* Respect and always protect the confidentiality and privacy of each child and family and under all conditions.
* Support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
* Provide positive guidance to children and parents.
* Maintain a commitment to the professional and ethical realms of childhood education through participation in staff development and training activities.
* Assist the Director with planning activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy.
* Establish and maintain a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.
* Develop and effectively implement appropriate curriculum-based lesson plans.
* Report accurate progress of children through parent-teacher conferences.
* Maintain accurate and appropriate records under the supervision of the Director.
* Report any suspected neglect or abuse of children to the Director.
* Supervise classroom assistants with the Director.
