* Key challenges for the Youth Development Professional role include safety and risk management, implementing learning activities to meet the diverse needs of youth, creating a sense of belonging for all youth in the Club, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment with the Club.
* Strategic goals include innovative ways to engage youth in programming and activities, a continuous quality improvement approach to increase program quality, safety and its impact on the Club Experience, ways to engage families, ways to create an inclusive environment with the Club.
*Position Summary: * Provide development and implementation of youth development programming.
The Youth Development Professional contributes to positive youth development, empowerment, and drives youth outcomes across the spectrums of academic achievement, good character & citizenship, and health and wellness.
*Qualification Requirements: * *Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills * * Bachelor’s degree in recreation, education, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
* Knowledge of youth development.
* Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
* Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
* Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
*Objectives and Key Responsibilities: * _A successful Youth Development Professional: _ * Upholds the organization’s mission, purpose, and values.
* Ensures the emotional and physical safety of all youth.
* Maintains knowledge of and implements safety regulations and practices.
* Provides guidance and serves as a role model to youth.

* Creates a high-quality learning environment for youth and promotes program participation.
* Plans and implements age-appropriate programs and activities with youth.
* Maintains positive, healthy relationships with youth and fellow staff.
*Experience Requirements: * _A successful Youth Development Professional: _ * Embodies a heart and passion for working with youth and helping youth succeed.
* Demonstrates creativity, organizational skills, and project management abilities.
* Has the ability to build and maintain relationships with youth and adults in diverse populations.
* Demonstrates the ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
* Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a collaborative environment as a member of a team.
* Has knowledge of youth development and experience working with youth.
*Additional Requirements: * * Covid-19 vaccine * Driving record must meet the standards of the organization’s insurance carrier.
* Ability to obtain your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within the first 90 days.
The organization will reimburse for cost associated with obtaining the CDL.
CDL and Health Card must remain current throughout the employment with Boys & Girls Clubs.
* Ability to obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid raining certifications within the first 90 days of employment.
*Additional Information: * * Staff shirts will be provided to be worn at all times unless another dress code is announced.
* Youth Development Professional reports to Club Director * Hours for professional staff o School Year: 1:00 pm-8:00 pm * Some Saturdays, the hours vary.
o Summer: Hours will vary between 7:00 am-6:00 pm * Hours may vary depending on programs and organizational needs.
* Clubs are closed 2 weeks prior to the first day of school each year.
