Our work depends on a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) resource joining our team to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code, working under limited supervision.
HOW A VIRTUAL DESKTOP INFRASTRUCTURE (VDI) RESOURCE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Provide operational support of all Windows system administration within the End-user computing (EUC) space including Windows Server and Windows Desktop Operating systems.
Deploy and maintain secure desktop images in the VMware virtual desktop Infrastructure in accordance with policies and industry standards Manage, and maintain user preferences and data Manage and maintain VMware AppVolumes managers, databases, App Stacks and writable volumes Respond promptly to incidents in ServiceNow Diagnose and repair system problems Define, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot system performance of all EUC systems Experience with hardening and improving the security of Windows operating systems and hardware platforms, local area networks, wide area networks, messaging, and client-server applications.
Develop and maintain IT documentation.
Independently analyzes and develops innovative resolutions for complex problems involving availability and/or performance at the component level.
Works with vendors to resolve problems and, implements solutions independently Leads project teams within assigned unit.
Develops, plans, and manages project tasks.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline (preferred, but not required) Required Experience: 10+ years of experience with application development Required Skills & Abilities: May be asked to lead project teams within assigned unit develop, plan and manage project tasks and participate in the preparation of materials and oral presentations for customers and management Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments Provide training to less experienced team members on the team.
Technical Skills: Must have a current VMware Certification (preferably a VCP6-DTM or VCP7-DTM or VCAP6-DTM or VCAP7-DTM) Strong background in Desktop Virtualization: VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, Citrix; Microsoft RDS Must have direct experience installing, configuring, and managing VMware software products including Horizon View, App Volumes, User Environment Manager, Workspace ONE, ThinApp, and vRealize Operations for Horizon Dell Wyse Configuration Manager experience and knowledge Knowledge of storage area networks to include network operating systems, storage area network (SAN) protocols, SAN management, and SAN physical configuration.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) and Windows Installer technologies for creating ThinApps and App Stack Basic understanding of data center networking (TCP/IP, switching/routing, ports and protocols, firewall concepts, load-balancing) Strong, demonstrable scripting experience in one or more of the following: PowerShell, VBScript, C++, Unix Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, etc.
