Raleigh, North Carolina We are looking for a talented and dedicated Senior Project Engineer to complement our growing Transportation team for immediate employment in our Raleigh, North Carolina office.
The position will involve working directly with staff including engineers, technicians and administrative staff on pursuit, development, and execution of highway engineering projects.
You will have a unique opportunity to work with many different ms team members within the Transportation Business Unit in a truly collaborative team environment helping to shape the future of our transportation services.
*About the Transportation Business Unit* The Transportation Business Unit provides transportation engineering services for all project types and scopes, from the largest interstate systems to local municipality roads.
Some of the services provided include roadway and intersection design, corridor improvements, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and environmental documentation.
Our traffic, highway, structural, and environmental planning engineers work collaboratively to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and long-term transportation solutions.
*What You'll Do:* The primary focus of the role will be as follows: * Manage day to day activities of transportation projects and report progress to transportation leaders * Perform roadway design, project plan reviews, and plan preparation for a variety of transportation projects * Lead projects from start to finish, and perform technical internal review to ensure plan quality * Prepare manday estimates, schedules, and other pertinent data relating to specific projects * Provide feedback and mentorship to junior design staff * Collaborate with team leaders to help provide a strategic edge over our competitors *What You'll Bring:* _Education and Experience_ * Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or University is required, or equivalent experience * Experience with professional design and preparation of plans for interstate and local road/street projects * Successful task and project management experience preferred * Experience in a mentorship or supervisory role is a plus * Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred _Knowledge and Skills_ * Alternative Delivery Project experience is a plus * Familiarity with AASHTO and DOT policies and procedures, NCDOT familiarity is a plus.
* MicroStation and OpenRoads experience preferred.
