Job Description We are seeking an Intermediate Transportation Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team of toll collection and express lanes consulting practice.
You will have the opportunity to support the team in major projects in the industry and apply your technical and creative skills to developing system requirements, supporting toll and transportation system procurements, design, deployments, testing and operations.
In this role, you will apply fundamental ITS engineering principles to a variety of projects whilst it also provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolving field of ITS, leveraging emerging technologies and data-driven strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and safety.

Work, as a systems engineer, under the direction of the project or technical manager and senior engineers, on, tolling, ITS, and traffic management system projects including Planning, Engineering, Design, Integration, Deployment, Operations and Maintenance, Communications, and overall end to end project cycle.

Coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present results.
Develop, update and review design documents, technical specifications, and other project related documentation.
Oversee vendor testing, implementation activities and verify and validate conformance with contractual requirements, including onsite inspections and working with both clients and vendors.
Analyze transportation data to derive insights and strategies.
Understand and articulate the data needs for future transportation solutions.
Review test plans and perform data analysis to determine compliance with project requirements.
Prepare project deliverables such as technical memos, reports, and engineering cost estimates.
Research state-of-the-start systems and devices relating to the tolling and transportation technology sectors.
Participate in emerging technology projects (i.
e.
Road User Charging (RUC), Vehicle Occupancy Detection Systems), etc.
Qualifications Bachelors’ degree in an engineering or science/data related discipline.
A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in ITS/traffic/tolling/emerging technologies Presentation skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Willing to travel to client sites as required.
A valid driver’s license Additional but not required: Knowledge of transportation systems such as electronic payments (transit or tolls), fleet tracking solutions, wireless communications, transit or traffic operations management solutions and other similar technologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microstation and AutoCAD.
Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures.
