Structural Engineering Analyst II

Description of Work Looking to take the next step in your IT career? We currently have an opening for a Structural Engineering Analyst II.
This position is designated Statutory Exempt and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act.
The Engineering Application Development Unit is responsible for the implementation, operation and maintenance of IT systems for the automation of engineering designs and processes.
The candidate for this position will use their engineering experience to design, develop and support highly complex computer software applications for the analysis, design, and rating of structural engineering components.
This position will act as a team lead for assigned projects and will be responsible for creating structural engineering calculations and validating work of other team members assigned to the project.
Selected candidate must reside in North Carolina at time of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Demonstrated experience designing and analyzing bridge or building structures using current AASHTO, ACI or AISC design codes Demonstrated experience developing and/or implementing highly complex information technology solutions to enhance enterprise success Software Engineering experience with industry standard Software Development Life Cycle methodologies Demonstrated experience with C#, Visual Studio and/or SQL The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred: Professional Engineering license (PE) in NC Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an ‘equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
