Looking for someone 4 to 5 days a week, primarily Saturday, Wednesday to drive truck or assist driver to pick up donations.
Some days may be assisting in the back of store taking donations, preparing furniture and placing on the floor for sale, as well as loading sold furniture.
LOCALTRUCK DRIVER/BACKROOM HELP
InJoy Thrift Store of Rocky Mount is seeking a dependable, local, delivery truck driver with excellent customer service skills as a part of our donation pickup team.
This person would be responsible for driving the store vehicle on a planned route to ensure pickups are made on time.
This person will also assist in the loading and unloading process of goods.
Previous warehouse and delivery experience are preferred, and a clean driving record is required.

Local Delivery Truck Driver Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) under 26,000 lbs.
Carefully and fully observe all InJoy COVID policies prior to entering any homes or businesses.
Pick-up loads and organizes goods in an ordered, logical manner.
Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage.
Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from the truck at InJoy Thrift store.
Represent InJoy in a polite and Christian manner to all residents of homes on pick up route.
Assist warehouse staff and customers with loading and unloading processes
Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
Have a strong base knowledge regarding items we can take as donations and those we are not able to take.
Politely inform customer of items we are not able to take and the reasons.
Interact with local customers, answer questions and advise them on our policies.
Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.
).
Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
Track and report working hours.
Adhere to company rules and regulations.
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
Comply with ICC and DOT regulations.
Make safety a priority at all times.
Local Delivery Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
Valid driver’s license, required.
Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required.
Experience driving a large company van or truck preferred.
Clean driving record with no moving violations.
Must pass a background check and drug test.
Skilled and confident driver.
Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle.
Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
Physically and mentally fit.
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
at a time.
Experience using hand trucks and electric lifts.
Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
An innate sense of direction.
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong verbal communicator.
