Description:
The Education Writer and Editor position plays a pivotal role in creating, curating, and editing educational content that enhances the Museum experience for diverse audiences.
You’ll collaborate closely with Museum educators, curators, and content creators to develop engaging materials that promote understanding, appreciation, and interpretation of art collections within the Museum.
Responsibilities
Edit new and revised content for NCMA Learn and Schoology using guidelines developed by NCMA editorial staff.
Add approved content to NCMA Learn using WordPress.
Attend meetings to collaborate with staff and support education projects.
Review existing educational resources to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and relevance.
Edit and proofread educational materials for clarity, accuracy, and consistency in style and messaging.
Ensure that content meets educational standards, accessibility guidelines, and Museum policies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in writing, art history, museum studies, education, or related field
Proven experience of at least five years in educational content creation, editing, or curriculum development within a museum or educational institution
Strong knowledge of art history, museum education principles, and pedagogical practices
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for content creation and publication
Passion for art and a commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible, and engaging educational experiences
