North Carolina Wesleyan University invites applications for a nine-month appointment as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning in August 2024.
The successful candidate will engage students in teaching introduction to psychology, research methods, and some combination of cognitive, learning, and physiological psychology.
Other responsibilities include academic advising, supervising undergraduate research, and service to the university.
A doctoral degree is required, but ABD candidates will be considered if their degrees will be complete by the time employment begins.
An appointment to a more senior rank is possible for those who have achieved tenure at another institution.
The university is located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and serves approximately 1,500 students, including adult and professional students in the evening and online.

In the traditional day program, 43% are students of color, and 20% are international students.
In addition to teaching in the traditional day program, psychology faculty also serve adult and professional students and employ innovative teaching approaches and personal attention.
Rocky Mount is in the eastern coastal plain region of the state, convenient to the Raleigh-Durham area and beaches, including the Outer Banks.
Washington, DC, and the mountains of North Carolina are also within easy driving distance.
