Position Summary
The Division of Cardiology at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an Open Rank Faculty position as a Interventional Cardiologist.
The position will be full time clinical.
Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient cardiology, attending on inpatient cardiology services, performing procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, and teaching of cardiovascular fellows and interventional cardiology fellows.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
An interest in, and experience with, peripheral vascular disease procedures is a plus.
A record of successful research (clinical or translational) with the ability to obtain external funding is also a plus.
Position rank and track (fixed term vs.
tenure track) is dependent upon applicant qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will have the potential to develop a successful research program as shown by publishing in leading peer reviewed journals and securing grants from external funding sources.
Research interests that are likely to lead to successful collaborations with other investigators at UNC are essential.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD Degree
Successful completion of a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certified/Eligible in Interventional Cardiology
