Teaching Assistant Job Description (29 Hours A Week)
(2024-25 School Year)
The Expedition School is seeking a part-time teaching assistant (K-4).
The teaching assistant will perform tasks that may include, but are not limited to:
Photocopying
Working with small groups of students
Working one-on-one with a student
Supervising the transition of students to and from special classes
Organizing learning materials
Covering a class in the event a teacher needs to step out
The teaching assistant will also be available to substitute teach a class in the event a teacher is absent and another substitute teacher is not available.
Requirements:
Flexible, quick learner, caring with young children, able to take directions as well as self-start necessary tasks that help improve student learning, classroom environment and classroom teacher efficiency.

Be a learner yourself, flexible and willing to grow
Be able to collaborate effectively with a variety other staff
Utilize effective and positive classroom management techniques in a multi-age classroom

Positive attitude
Must be able to lift 30 pound boxes and be able to bend, stand and move throughout campus.
We have a multi-level campus including gravel, grass and cement.

STUDENT DAYS M, T, Th, F , 8:15am - 2:30pm, early release W 8:00am - 12:00pm, full-day W 8:00am - 2:30pm, according to the 2023-24 TES calendar.
Pay: $16.
