The Day Program Instructor is responsible for upholding Abound Health mission, vision and values by providing support, services, education and compassion to our clients receiving Innovations Waiver or State Funded Services.

*JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Assist with coordination of client schedules on an as needed basis to maximize efficiency and best utilize time on any given day.
* Assist Instructors or Day Program managerial staff to communicate incidents, concerns and areas of need.
* Monitor clients’ safety during class activities as well as times of transition in daily schedules.
* Assist in personal hygiene activities as needed to support clients.
* Assist and uphold general cleanliness and sanitation of the facility in accordance to licensure guidelines, company policies and procedures, and all Infection Control Policies.
* Follow goals and objectives provides in the clients’ ISP/PCP.
* Will provide and maintain documentation pertaining to the implementation and success rate of the clients’ goals and objectives.
* Provide fill-in support for clients as needed to include schedules outside of normal duty hours.
* Represent Abound Health at community or other events as needed
* Supervise staff.
Conduct annual performance evaluations and more frequent documentation as necessary.
* Assist with and/or oversee day program projects as assigned by supervisor.
These include but are not limited to open house, appreciation parties, COP (Community Outing Program) events and/or participation in committees designated to improve ASM’s service delivery.
* Ensure day program facility implements and maintains necessary policies and procedures that meet/exceed national accreditation standards.
* Review timesheets for accuracy, verify paid time off, and approve.
* Always ensure safety for all participants of the day program.
* Provide privacy and confidentiality of all participants’ records.
* Assure participants are free from abuse, mistreatment, and/or neglect and report any incidents of such to supervisor.
* Treat each participant with dignity and respect.
* Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Abound Health’s philosophy and purpose.
* Provide a positive atmosphere which facilitates growth and learning of coping skills.
* Perform duties as requested by Supervisor
*SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Attention to accuracy and detail in all aspects of responsibilities.
* Must be flexible and open to changing priorities and high demand tasks
* Possess strong skills and understanding of software applications.
* Be hands-on, proactive, results driven, and engaged to fulfill all requirements as outlined in the above section.
* Excellent communication skills (oral and written); professional and presents well when interacting with Service Recipients, Family Members, ASM Team Members, other stakeholders as wells as community members.
* Ability to grasp mission, vision and values of Abound Health.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
* Ability to multi-task and cope effectively with stress.
* Ability to analyze situations accurately and think strategically to problem solve by adopting effective course of actions.
* Ability to envision and grasp both the “big picture” and details.
* Thorough understanding of ISP Implementation, Task Analysis and Goal writing.
* Maintain Therapeutic working relationship with Service Recipients, Family Members, Team Members
*REQUIREMENTS:*
* High School Diploma or GED
* Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with I/DD population
* At least 18 years of age
* Valid Driver License
* Safe Driving Record
* No substantiated findings of abuse and/or neglect
* Criminal, LEIE, NC Health Care Registry Check and Sexual Offender Background checks clear of health and safety risks
* Reliable and safe transportation
* Current Auto Insurance
*POSITION TYPE:*
* Hourly non-exempt
* Instructor hours up to 32 per week, 8 additional hours of Instructor Planning
* Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm; extended or weekend hours during extenuating circumstances and as duties dictate.
