Clarity Legal Group is looking for a Funding Paralegal to join our growing estate planning law firm located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Funding is a critical part of the estate planning process which requires attention to detail as well as an ability to explain goals to clients and those in the financial services industry.
You will work closely with attorneys and other paralegals in our office, and with our clients and members of the financial community.
Job Duties: * Extensive in-person and telephone communications with estate planning clients.
* Review assets with estate planning clients and gather necessary information (e.
g.
, assets, accounts, policies, title of properties, beneficiary designations, ownership of business interests, etc.
) to coordinate and conduct this critical part of the estate planning process.
* Effectively communicate to clients the importance of the related asset reorganization to the outcome of their planning.
* Communicate and build relationships with financial advisors, banks and other financial institutions in order to fulfill client needs with respect to retitling accounts under trusts and changing beneficiary designations.
* Prepare financial institution forms for clients.
* Assist clients with all aspects of funding trusts, including transferring ownership of all related accounts and policies and updating beneficiary designations as needed.
* Review basic corporate records.
* Prioritize tasks in order to handle matters expeditiously and proactively while meeting deadlines.
* Assist in defining and enforcing accountability within the firm.
* Assist in file maintenance and contributes to data management.
* Manage other projects as needed.
Skills & Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree and three or more years' experience working in a financial institution or estate planning law firm preferred.
* Must be comfortable working with colleagues who think and work at a fast pace.
* Must have the ability to work independently and the ability to take initiative.
* Must have excellent verbal communication skills and be adept at building trust of clients and their financial advisors.
* Comfort with public speaking preferred.
* Must be well organized with a disposition for giving attention to detail.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Experienced with collaboration technology (SharePoint, Zoom, etc.
).
* Must have effective problem-solving skills.
* Must have the ability to see the big picture and effectively prioritize competing projects and responsibilities.
* Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write a substantive professional letter and report.
* Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
