Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is seeking a full-time (37.
5 hours/week) paralegal _*who is proficient in Spanish *_to support Immigration Pathways for Victims (IMMPAV) in its Raleigh office.
IMMPAV is a specialized project of LANC which provides immigration assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking throughout the state.
As a crucial member of IMMPAV, you'll collaborate with attorneys to file immigration applications for survivors of crime.

*Job Description*: The Paralegal will: * Interview applicants to determine eligibility for services and elicit relevant facts.
* Enter data and notes from client interviews into the case management system.
* Help clients gather necessary documents and obtain evidence from third parties.
* Call clients to provide them with case updates or information from the attorney.
* File documents at the courthouse and obtain records from court.
* Perform basic legal research.
* Draft documents such as clients’ personal statements and letters to clients and others.
* Complete immigration forms.
Use client data to fill out immigration forms and identify needed information.
* Conduct outreach directly to clients and agencies which serve our client populations.
* Scan mail and upload it to clients’ files in our case management system.
* Create case files and organize evidence and documents in clients’ files.
* Provide general support to attorneys and perform other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications: *Candidates applying for this position should have the following qualifications: * _*Proficiency in oral and written English and Spanish.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
