PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The RentalAsset Manager is responsible foroverseeing the equipment rental fleet to determineoptimalutilizationand cost of ownership.
This would include working with others on acquisitions and disposals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Analyze pertinent data to create and distribute periodic reports on Company-owned assets to maximize fleet utilization, manage cost of ownership challenges, and develop appropriate CAPEXspend.
• Develop means and methods to track trends and work with the Operations Manager to identifyimprovement opportunities.
• Provideguidance in developing asset management policies, procedures, and best practices through the understanding of our fleet use, fleet lifecycle, and cost of ownership and competency of our Rental (Expense) Techs.
• Develop fleet life cycle plans to maximize ROI.
• Offer recommendations for procurement and disposal of the rental fleet in collaboration with Used Dept and Ops Mgr.
• Works closely with the Branch Management team to ensure that branches are properly inventoried based on sales and utilizationtargets.
• Conduct monthly reviews with the branch management team to review the fleet condition, utilizationissues and fleet disposal opportunities.
• Participate & provide input to capital budget development.
• Works with Allied Vendors for Tech training opportunities.
• Works with Heavy Shops to decrease M&R by reviewing SCs and monitoringlarge repairs.
• Maximizes warranty recovery of both CAT and Allied Rental Fleets.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Managementor a related field, or related experience.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years asset or material management experience preferably in the equipment rental industry or construction equipment industry.
Strong knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, construction equipment service department operational procedures and processes.
Physical:
Must be willing to travel occasionally for meetings or asset-tracking fieldwork throughout the territory.
Other:
Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Office, asset management software and other relevant ERP applications; Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate ideas and issues effectively and concisely to all levels of management; Proven ability to drive process improvement, including the effective use of technology and automation; Must be able to work flexible hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary.
