Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Land Development to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, project management, and construction inspection.
As a Development Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various development projects.
Duties:
* Serving as the main liaison for all aspects of master planned community development.
* Efficiently coordinating the development of company-owned property to meet business and financial goals.
* Ensuring successful project delivery through meticulous management of construction schedules, contracts, budgets, environmental studies, and permit compliance.
* Overseeing bidding processes and schedules, and ensuring adherence to contractual commitments and regulatory standards.
* Developing and managing land development budgets, reports, and invoicing timelines.
* Leading contract negotiations with land development trade partners.
* Collaborating with external consultants, such as architects and civil engineers, to ensure project execution.
* Proficiently understanding and navigating all stages of the development process and associated timelines.
* Reviewing contracts and providing guidance on appropriate actions.
* Securing timely lot delivery with favorable development conditions for the company.
* Playing a vital role in jurisdictional planning processes and anticipating requirements for building permits.
* Understanding design-related elements necessary to meet jurisdictional standards.
* Being flexible to undertake additional duties as required.
About You:
* At least 4 years of advancing experience in land management within the homebuilding industry.
* A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or Planning is highly desirable.
* Prior experience in supervising staff is necessary.
* Demonstrated capability to foresee potential challenges and suggest advantageous solutions.
* Proficient in succinct writing and adept at public speaking and presentations.
* Driven by action and oriented towards achieving tangible results.
