Position Summary:
The Clinic Office Assistant works alongside Providers and clinicians performing front-office clerical duties such as answering telephones, sorting mail, maintaining office schedule, greeting patients and visitors, requesting patient insurance information, and other general clerical duties as needed.

Assists patients with initial paperwork
2.
Schedule and coordinate appointments
3.
Handles communication and acts as a receptionist.
4.
Functions as a liaison between guests, providers, clinical staff, billing departments, vendors and management.
5.
Process insurance claims in compliance with legal requirements.
6.
Answer patient questions and ensure quality customer service.
7.
Abides by HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
8.
Processes patients for discharge including, but not limited to preparation of charges, collection of monies, obtaining all necessary signatures, and issuance of receipts for monies collected.
9.
Completes all necessary forms for registration to ensure proper reimbursement from payors.
10.
Maintains a safe, comfortable environment for patients and families, while keeping everyone informed of waiting times.
11.
Ensures adequate stock of front office supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
12.
Maintains a clean patient waiting area and ensures restrooms are tidy and uncluttered to reflect a positive image.
13.
Participates in education programs and meetings as required.
14.
Make suggestions to the Manager/Director to improve clinic performance and patient experience.

Qualifications - External
Minimum Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Required Skills
Proficient with data entry and Microsoft Office Suite
1-year relative work experience in a clinic/office setting preferred
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail oriented
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
