About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle.
This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.
Occ Summary Coordinate and participa tein a variety ofduties associated withdaily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash manag ement and patient appointmentscheduling.
Position also involves customer service, messagedistribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referralsmanagement.
Work Performed Prepare for clin icvisits by reviewingnext day patients andcompleting next day preparatio nactivities.
Enterpre-visit orders andprepare new patient charts.
Pick u p X-rays, officecharts, medicalrecords, reports, petty cash and collecti ons bag.
Filehistory sheets,ancillary reports and all other required pat ient record documentation.
Return medical records.
Attach HIPPA/Medicared ocuments totheencounter forms.
Check-in patient upon arrival in the pract ice.
Identifycorrect patientinformation in Maestro Care.
Verify patient demographicdata.
EditMaestro Care as needed.
Accurately identify the ap propriate accountfor patient visit.
Present and educate patients on requ ired formsandobtain signature as required by policy and procedure.
Compl etes allMaestro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts.
Co llectandpost co-payments and balances on accounts due.
Imprint all patie ntspecificchart documents and requisition/transmittal documents.
Copy,fi leand distribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure.
Coordinateall labs/procedures as requested.
Maintain private physicianoffice charts.
P repareencounter forms.
Investigate and account for missing encounterform s.
Audit encounter forms for completeness and accuracy beforebatching.
B atchesencounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.

Complete and distributeancillary service requisitions.
Exp lainbilling to patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection policies.
Determine the amountof cash to be collected based on insurance plan.
Che ck-outpatients.
Make return appointments by scheduling patients intothec orrect appointment type, entering the primary care physician orrefere an ddeliver messages to physicians, nurses andothers.
Report obtained mring physician and scheduling tests and procedures.
Answer telephone, takedic al informationfrom patients and referringphysicians accurately, complete ly and timely.
Disseminate messagesaccording to practice communication s tandards Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strongverba l and written communication.
Basic PC and data entryskills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.
Demonstrated ability to org anize and prioritize work, provide oral andwritten instructions, interac t tactfully with customers and establishand maintain effective relations hips with others.
Must be able to applyspecific departmental policies ru lesand regulations relating toverifying patient information, collecting payments and maintainingrecords and forms.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am-4pm Minimum Qualifications Education Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally required through a high school education, with some postsecondary education preferred.

Experience Two years experience working in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
Or, an Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience working with the public.
Or, a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with the public.
