Sunny Skies Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a qualified and experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team.
Our dental practice is dedicated to providing exceptional dental care to children in a warm and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
* Assist pediatric dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of young patients.
* Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
* Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist.
* Provide oral hygiene instructions to children and parents/guardians.
* Perform coronal polishing under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
* Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
* Assist with front office duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and processing payments.
* Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and provide support and reassurance to anxious or nervous children.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
* Current certification in nitrous oxide administration.
* Current certification in coronal polishing.
* Previous experience working in a pediatric dental setting is preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
