*Job Purpose*
Secures revenue by collecting, posting, and providing support to patients regarding all medical billing at Avance Care.
*Core Responsibilities*
* Maintains confidentiality of patient information as regard to HIPAA laws
* Answers all incoming inquiries to the department from both internal and external sources, including calls, voicemails and Teams Messaging
* Resolves patient inquiries to the best of Avance Care’s ability, within applicable law, and seeking help from certificate professionals such as Certified Professional Coders or Billing Specialists as necessary to resolve patient issues
* Resolves and returns all voicemails are within 24 hours
* Resolves all billing actions, emails and telephone encounters within 48 hours
* Posts all incoming payments, including electronic and paper insurance payments, as well as patient online, mail in, and over the phone payments
* Resolve all posting discrepancies to ensure the correct balance on each payment and claim
* Reviews and resolves Dated ERA’s
* Processes return mail and updates incorrect patient addresses in billing software
* Processes Carin and Care Credit payments daily or as appropriate
* Resolves all Unposted Payments within billing software
* Reviews and resolves DocBox
* Imports bank payments daily
* Review, reconcile and process patient refunds on a weekly basis
* Reconciliation of Allergy Report monthly
* Obtains information for initial set-up of Payment Plans.
Ensures information is provided to the appropriate entities
* Accomplishes all tasks as assigned or become necessary
*Qualifications*
* High School Diploma required
* Post-secondary Certificates in Medical Billing and/or equivalent, preferred
* 2-5 years related experience
