JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I in our Regional Pediatric Sutton Station Clinic located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; document and communicate pertinent information.
Assist the physician during the examination and procedures.
Record vital signs and perform intake with the exception of medication review
Collect/prepare laboratory specimens as within scope; perform Point of Care laboratory tests
Sterilize medical instruments using Autoclave as appropriate
Daily clinic preparation process – QC and safety checks
Clean and restock exam rooms
Monitor and/or order clinic supplies
Review instructions with patients and/or caregivers
Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician and/or RN
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing or successful completion of the NC - approved Nurse Aide I competency test.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property.
BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hire orientation, which typically takes place during the first week of employment.
JOB HOURS:
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
