On top of primary care providers, we have providers with a background in dermatology, sports medicine, internal medicine, neurology, and we have 2 pediatricians on staff.
This sets us up to be a "one stop shop" for our patients! MAs can learn a variety of skills with working with specialty providers.
This opportunity is great for MAs interested in expanding their skills or have future goals of working in healthcare.
*Core Responsibilities* * Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA laws * Escort patients to and from exam/treatment rooms * Triage patients as necessary * Administer vaccines and injections * Able to take manual blood pressure * Record patient data prior to the physician’s visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes * Obtain necessary patient records and verify consent prior to treatment or procedures * Assist physicians with exams and a wide variety of procedures, including but not limited to injections, dermatologic procedures, pelvic exams, EKGs, eye exams, managing dressings, POC lab tests, and performing x-rays (training provided) * Administer medications orally, vaginally, rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intradermally * Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed * Maintain proper disinfection protocols * Schedule patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments * Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging * Complete all forms used by the provider, including but not limited to, growth charts, MPE, pap forms, cytology-pathology forms, etc.
* Phone in prescriptions and distribute proper medications as ordered by the provider * Other duties as necessary *Qualifications* * One of the following certifications are required: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) * Must pass Avance Care Competency Check (Medical Knowledge Assessment and Vaccination Knowledge Assessment) * High school diploma or equivalent, required * Medical terminology experience, required * 1+ years in healthcare experience, preferred * Pediatric experience, preferred *What are we looking for?* * Excellent verbal and written communication * Ability to maintain confidentiality * Strong computer skills * Strong attention to detail * Team player * Efficient time management and workload prioritization * Strong multitasking skills * Medication knowledge * Vaccination knowledge *Schedule* * 12-HR Rotating shifts, Monday – Friday; 7:30am – 7:00pm * Alternating weekends; Saturday & Sunday 9:00am – 3:00pm Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Medical specialties: * Primary Care Schedule: * 12 hour shift * Rotating weekends Work setting: * Clinic * In-person Work Location: In person
