Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Established in 1936, we are the second oldest theatre department in the country.
Our faculty members are both scholars and artists, teachers, and practitioners, constantly moving back and forth between the classroom and the theatre.
PlayMakers Repertory Company (a nationally regarded LORT D theatre) is embedded within the Department and the symbiotic relationship between them is at the vital center of who we are.

Position Summary
The Department of Dramatic Art, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer.
This is a temporary 1 semester (non-tenure track) position for Spring 2024.
The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching DRAM 475 (World Costume Shapes) in the Graduate Costume Production program.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should possess a Master of Fine Arts degree, in theatre, from an accredited institution and shall have demonstrated at least two years of teaching experience at the university or college level and knowledge of traditional garments from around the globe.
