Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed
- Ensure the rights and dignity of residents are respected at all times
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nurses, to ensure the well-being of residents
- Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and regulations in assisted living or nursing home settings
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Basic understanding of medical procedures and ability to take vital signs
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
