Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Dental Faculty Practice provides general and specialty dental and maxillofacial treatment with faculty from various clinical departments and groups (i.
e.
general dentistry, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, dental implants, oral medicine, orofacial pain, periodontics, prosthodontics, pathology, radiology, special care, and endodontics).
The clinical team consists of caring and competent clinical assistants, hygienists, administrative and financial personnel.
An advantage to patients is that they can see multiple dental specialists as part of the same practice; these specialists are clinicians, educators and researchers that are committed to providing the highest quality of care for their patients.
Position Summary The Dental Faculty Practice (DFP) Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations, driving the delivery of timely and superior patient-centered care, and facilitating continuous quality improvement to both operations and the patient experience.
This position has supervisory duties, both direct and indirect hires, for personnel who are responsible for scheduling appointments and collecting payments.
This position is responsible for establishing and monitoring metrics to optimize clinical operations, working closely with the Director of DFP, DFP Business Officer, ASOD Finance, Patient Business Services, and the UNC Health epic teams.
The DFP Clinical Manager will focus on patient volume, providing training for staff and faculty; reviewing Epic reports with faculty and the leadership team; and responsible for establishing DFP policy revisions, protocol changes, and the overall well-being of the Practice and the Dental School.
The DFP Clinical Manager is responsible for facilitating the needs of the faculty and staff to create a practice setting that benefits our provider’s clinical skills while providing a service to the people of North Carolina and beyond.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Minimum of ten years of experience with patient scheduling and/or clinical operations.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Considerable experience with patient scheduling and/or clinical operations.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Successful candidates must be process-oriented and have the ability to identify and analyze trends.
Specialize in Epic Software System, EPR, People Soft and Connect Carolina.
Required Licenses/Certifications Special Physical/Mental Requirements Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act.
