Summary
This is an executive level position which requires demonstrated strong operational and business knowledge and understands both technical and strategic components of the business.
This role will be critical in validating execution strategies on complex projects, assist in preconstruction activities of large jobs, participate on project reviews as identified by the team for projects that are determined to be under performing.
Additionally, this person will be responsible for managing and overseeing labor relationships that are essential resources required for Kinetics to be successful.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Support in strategic planning in order to upturn proficiency, productivity, and efficiency of the projects and operations.
Manage the development, operations, and financial aspects of the region.
Direct construction functions and sequences of work to obtain optimum utilization of workforce and meet revenue/realized gross margin projections within budget.
Directly involved in managing job cost analysis on all projects to ensure consistent profitability on all jobs, and to identify and make improvements where needed.
Directly involved in achieving high customer satisfaction on all projects from pre-award through the completion of the project to help achieve company goals.
Responsible for maintaining high employee satisfaction with all direct reports, their people and to assist Operations Managers in their employee satisfaction efforts in their branch offices.
Review and revisions to the company’s current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to manage the organization’s current construction delivery activities and its projected growth more effectively.
Manage and assist in the smooth and efficient flow of information through the Corporate Operations Department, all operation departments in all branch offices and all other departments.
Directly accountable for all projects being delivered ahead of schedule, on budget and with high customer satisfaction
Develop effective processes for project management and operations supervisors/managers to develop and maintain positive relationships with key contractors to help insure good bid coverage, quality installations and on-time project completion.
Analyze general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the operations departments.
Work collaboratively with other senior leaders and other departments to support their efforts in accomplishing Company goals.
Direct and measure progress in order to make changes to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years’ experience managing general construction projects.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing construction operations professionals.
Experience working with clients in the semiconductor, life sciences, pharmaceutical or advance technologies industries preferred.
Bachelors degree required.
Preferred area of study being Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration
High Purity Process piping knowledge preferred.
Project management, including all elements of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, resources and communications (5-10 years)
Self-starter, able to work in a fast-pace environment in order to meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project
Excellent communication skills - both oral, written, and via emails
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to effectively make sound decisions under tight deadlines
Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes.
Make necessary changes, use input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external expectations.
Working conditions
This job will require extensive travel both in an office and job site setting.
Physical requirements
This job will require long periods of sitting, in an office and job site administrative setting.
This job may also require being physically present on active construction sites, where activities like climbing, squatting, kneeling, and other physical tasks will be necessary.
