Position Overview:
Dietetic Technicians (DTs) work closely with clients, their families, and staff (registered dietitians, therapists, culinary services, and frontline team members).
Acts as liaison for the registered dietitian and culinary services to support the execution of registered dietitian prescribed diet orders/meal plans.
Utilizes knowledge of nutrition principals to provide basic nutrition education to clients and culinary services.
Assists the registered dietitian and basic culinary support as needed.
Part Time Position
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30AM-1:30PM
How Dietetic Technicians (DTs) Empower Recovery:
Communicates all diet orders, allergies/food intolerances and dietary accommodations to the culinary team.
Collaborates with registered dietitian(s) and culinary services to ensure all diet orders/dietary restrictions/dietary needs prescribed by the registered dietitian are accurately accommodated.
Assists culinary team with managing dietary accommodations.
Partners with the culinary team in executing production of individualized client trays per the tray ticket system.
Provides active meal coaching and support for clients in Therapeutic Supported Meals as assigned.
Plans, prepares, facilitates assigned nutrition groups and completes documentation of groups provided in the EHR.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Dietetic Technology or a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science or Nutrition is required (registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is not required).
Must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
One year of clinical or public health experience preferred.
Previous eating disorder experience is preferred.
Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 30 days from date of hire.
ServSafe Food Handler certification required
