Responsibilities:
Facilitate sedation appointments:
Assist with monitoring patients undergoing sedation, including hooking them up to monitoring equipment, starting IVs, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
Assist in preparing patients for sedation: Follow pre-operative protocols, obtain medical clearances, and conduct interviews as necessary.
Maintain accurate records: Collaborate with the dental team to ensure thorough documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and sedation records.
Assist in logging and tracking medication counts for compliance and safety.
Assist with Dental treatments as instructed
Take and record dental histories and patient records
Prepare instruments; clean treatment areas; sterilize equipment
Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized
Instruct patients in oral hygiene
Requirements:
- Current BLS certificate
- Current OSHA and HIPPA certificates
- North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced Certification
- Nitrous monitoring course
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
- Excellent organizational skills- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Exceptional attention to detail- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
