Provide close and direct support to attorneys involved in administrative and civil litigation connected with the business of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
Draft notices of hearing, routine pleadings, motions and orders in licensing and civil cases.
Coordinates and prepares witnesses, performs research, writes legal memoranda, organizes, summarizes and prepares physical and documentary evidence, and coordinates discovery in both administrative and civil litigation.
Assists the Director in providing for the review of citizen complaints and inquiries, the assignment of cases to attorneys and specialists, and the monitoring of case and inquiry management.
Consults the North Carolina General Statutes and agency rules and regulations regularly.
Procedures, precedents, or model legal documents are available for most work assignments, but generally require some interpretation or modification.
