*Job Title: * Renew Judgment Legal Assistant
*Reports To: *Rhonda Roy, Supervisor
*FLSA Status: *Non-Exempt
*Job Summary*
The Renew Judgment Legal Assistant prepares initial drafts of certain pleadings and letters in a precise manner as well as performs administrative and clerical duties for the Attorneys by performing the following duties:.
*Summary of essential job functions:*
* Communicates legal details to clients, court officials, staff and Attorneys in a clear and precise manner without providing legal consultation or advice.
* Ensures Attorneys & Supervisor of Pre-Judgment are informed of deadlines and problems.
* Responds to clients in a professional manner at all times to best represent the firm.
* Prepares initial drafts of letters/pleadings for review by Attorneys, including but not
limited to; Complaints to renew a judgment, Notices of Intent to File Legal Action, and service/judgment documents.
* Performs clerical duties as assigned such as photocopying and scanning.
* Operates standard office equipment efficiently including photocopy machine,
computer/printer & fax machine.
* Receives and responds to incoming telephone, fax, and email inquiries from clients associated with Judgment Renewals.
* Adheres to all client guidelines and NC Rules of Civil Procedure.
* Efficiently maintains an Action List, moving cases along the collection process.
* Perform other related duties as assigned

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to effectively present, verbally and written, information and respond to questions from the Attorneys, other professionals, and general public.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Proficiency with internal collection software, Lexis Nexis Software, as well as all Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, and especially Excel.
*Education/Experience:*
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
